Prayer Gathering and House Groups

Hi Everyone

Rather than risking this “getting lost” in the other details on the Weekly Update that went out today – I thought I’d run the risk of you getting another email(!) to focus on the plans for our House Groups and January prayer meetings.

1. Prayer Meetings

During the first full week of Jan – Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th – we will be having whole church prayer gatherings from 7:30pm in the church building. It’s always good to be praying together – and what better time than at the start of a new year?

Please make these times a priority in your schedule – praying with and for one another is a central part of what it means to a brother and sister in Christ. The mutual accountability and support that we enjoy in prayer is a special experience that no other group of people can replicate.

On Tuesday 7th there will be TWO prayer gatherings – one at 10:30am as well as the one at 7:30pm. All the meetings are open to everyone; if you can’t make them all, why not decide to be at least 2?

Whilst there will be some areas to pray for that are brought to us by the elders, there will also be times when there is no specific ‘agenda’, and we will have the opportunity to open our hearts to our loving Heavenly Father.

2. House Groups

This week will see the last of the House Groups until the new year  – God willing.

We will return the second full week of Jan – so the first groups will be on the 14th, 16th and 17th Jan respectively.

We also plan to run a Christianity Explored course starting that week. This will take place in the lounge at church ( whilst the usual House Group continues in the middle room) on Tuesday evenings from 7:45pm. Our prayer is that people who have been along to the Christmas events will be interested to continue their journey to faith in Christ. So please be praying for your friends and family to join the group. Invitation cards will be available over the Christmas period.

Thank you for your support and encouragement over another term of learning and growing together. Thank you to those who have hosted and served in our House Groups; thank you to those who have led so helpfully. Let’s continue to make it our prayer to be doers of the word and not hearers only.

In Christ Alone,

Mike
