26th December

Dear Brothers and Sisters

I trust you had a wonderful Christmas – and that there’s not too much boxing going on today!

As we rejoice in all that God has done in sending the Lord Jesus Christ into our world and into our hearts, we can also raise our grateful thanks for the many people who came to various events over the Christmas season. We can also continue to pray that the truth they heard and sang would find a resting place in their hearts and minds – and that they would, by the prompting of the Holy Spirit, want to find out more and grow in their understanding of who Jesus is and why he came to earth.

Please pray that people on your heart would come along to the Christianity Explored course that starts on 14th Jan at 7:45pm in the church lounge.

This coming Sunday – the last of 2024 – we meet at 11am for Family Church. Please pray for Danny as he speaks, and that all of us would come expecting to hear from God and respond in adoration and worship.

There will be NO evening service on Sunday.

Please remember to get down to church on Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th Jan.2025 for our prayer gatherings. It’s vital that we pray together and commend ourselves and our church ministry to the Lord.

On Tuesday 7th they are at 10:30am and 7:30pm.

On Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th they are at 7:30pm.

At Family Church during the month of January, we are planning a series of sermons entitled, “What Would Jesus Say To … ?”. Using well-known names, from Vladimir Putin to Prince Andrew (!), we will be seeking to engage with people who may have been with us over Christmas, or maybe don’t regularly come to church, and show them what Jesus has to say to all of us as we step into 2025. We will be sharing the gospel – as we do every Sunday – from various passages in the Old and New Testament. These are great opportunities to invite your friends and family along – so be thinking and praying and inviting people.

Our plan after that is to return to John’s gospel on Sunday mornings as we run up to Easter. Again, you can be assured that gospel truth will be clearly proclaimed and seen in the Bible passages we look at together.

Please pray for those who are struggling with health issues or find themselves alone at Christmas. Pray for those with unconverted families who perhaps find this time difficult.

And please pray for Shahram as he urgently seeks some accomodation.

We pray that you will be refreshed over the coming days – if you need any support please get in touch with Andy, Danny, Matt or Mike and we will do what we can to help.

Until next time …

In Christ Alone,

Mike
